Too cool not to pass along…

I just stumbled across one of the most informative web sites about the causes Parkinson’s Disease, including several interactive links providing diagrams, pictures and definitions of many different things.

The site is purely scientific, going into the anatomy and physiology of the brain and the pathophysiology (causes and symptoms) of the disease, but it does so in a way that is very easy for everyone to understand. Difficult words and phrases are highlighted, and provide an easy to understand definition when clicked. Other words and phrases will bring up pictures/diagrams of areas the brain involved.

The site is called “Brain Explorer” and it focuses on many different neurological disorders, not just PD. The links I have provided will bring you specifically to the PD information, but once there you have the option of clicking on links to many other disorders.

For those of you who wish to have a greater understanding of PD and the physical changes that occur in the brain with this disease, I highly recommend the site. The page does provide some information about treatment, but not much.
